Tina Landau
Landau has been an Ensemble member at Steppenwolf since 1997, where
she has staged such productions as Space, The Time of Your Life and
Cherry Orchard. Landau came to the attention of Steppenwolf with her
world premiere musical, Floyd Collins, and made her Broadway debut
directing Bells are Ringing. Her upcoming projects include the new
musicals, The Miracle Brothers at the Vineyard in New York this summer,
Was at Northwestern University through Stuart Oken's new American
Musical Theater Project, and next winter's Midsummer Night's Dream,
with a new musical score by the pop band GrooveLily, at the McCarter
Theater and Papermill. Landau's book written with Anne Bogart, The
Viewpoints Book, is soon-to-be published by TCG. She is a graduate of
Yale College and later attended A.R.T.'s Institute for Advanced Theatre
Training at Harvard. She has returned to teach at both universities, as
well as at NYU, Columbia University, Saratoga International Theatre
Institute (SITI,), University of Chicago, Northwestern and UCSD. She is
a former TCG/NEA Director Fellow, an NEA Artistic Associate and has
received major grants from the Rockefeller, Princess Grace, W. Alton
Jones, and Pew Foundations.
